The Stooks project was created to record and perform a collection of some of the great country/folk tunes written by Darrel Delaronde. When Darrel is not touring with Gary Fjellgaard, or performing with his partner Saskia in their folk duo, he is fronting the Stooks, singing songs about life on the road, Canadian history, drivin'’ trucks and some plain old love songs. Darrel writes in the tradition of the great Canadian singer/songwriters like Gordon Lightfoot, Ian Tyson, and Gary Fjellgaard. You will hear musical influences on “Burlap and Bindertwine” like the Band, Blue Rodeo, and Bruce Coburn and some outstanding performances from stellar Canadian musicians!
